(From Jedi Council, Jedi Talk, and General Talk of the Jedi Forum)

These are some of the teachings and wise words from Jedi that were put up on the Jedi Forum. Placed here to keep record of them.

Respect
By Mi-Zhe Fu

Respect is something that is earned. But everyone has earned my respect at least a little, for even being interested in the Jedi Ways and coming to the forum. They are also our fellow human beings, and have a life of their own. It is even in the Jedi Code:

“Jedi respect all life, in any form”

Those who have passed the Trials and have become a Jedi have gained more of my respect because they have put forth an effort and have proven to learn some of the basics.

Jedi Knights have gained even more of my respect for learning and knowing more about the Jedi Ways. Knights who take on Padawans are also highly respected by me, for they wish to share with others the knowledge they have leaned in their life.

I also have the most respect for my fellow Jedi Masters. They have experienced different aspects of life, proven by the Knight Missions. And they have a good grasp on the Force, and all the other knowledge that a Jedi Master needs to know.

Anyone who contributes to the site in a beneficial manor and shows respect for others as well, I respect them also.

Jedi Master,
Mi-Zhe Fu

Patience
By Joey-Wan Kenobi

I have permission to post this:

Lately many of us have seen an incredible sign of impatience from many Younglings.
Whether it was to gain rank, or to get trial results back, or for the Youngling Classes or...etc.

Without patience very little can be achieved.
I had the same problem. But I realized that I had to fix it. I realized that all the people I have always looked up to have achieved what they have achieved with....Patience.

Master Mi-Zhe Fu for example trained for years and years to get to what he has.
"He that can have patience can have what he will"
And yet many give up after a couple of days claiming they haven't learned anything.
When I read the Headmaster's profile it was a turning point for me in my training. And my progress in training started.

Not only in training, but also in school and with my friends.
Patience has also helps in controlling ones anger. After I had learned patience I experienced many situations where I would've usually gotten angry.
But with time patience helped me to be more calm and thoughtful of next moves.
"If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow"
Patience also helps in duels. Many people want to get over a fight fast. They want to defeat their opponents as fast as possible. But in learning patience, you also learn to handle your opponent right. To wait until the time is right and attack. Like Obi-Wan.
Who did not only have patience in his duels using Form III but also when talking to Anakin and his stubbornness. Despite Anakin being so hard to be trained, Obi-Wan was able to guide him until Anakin fell to the Dark Side. Why? Because of his impatience. He didn't wait and didn't listen to Yoda. He wanted to find the easy way to save Padme.
"Only those who have the patience to do simple things perfectly will acquire the skill to do difficult things easily."

Patience can also be used in many of the Knights Skills.
For Example, an Ambassador needs patience to discuss something with another order.
If he shows a sign of impatience he is giving a bad impression of his order.
Also an escort needs patience when escorting someone. He needs to keep his calm to make the person he is escorting feel safe.
A guard needs patience when guarding a place, for danger doesn't appear every second.
Problem Solvers need patience when solving a problem between many people who might be stubborn. He will need the patience to keep his calm when talking to both parties in an argument.
Messengers and Liberators also need patience.

And finally patience is needed to learn the ways of the Force.
As I said above all the Masters and Knights have done so, thanks to patience and other factors also. It didn't take them a couple of days to learn the ways of the force, but years. And a person never stops learning.
"The training to become a Jedi isn't a short one, but it's worth it"

May the Force and Patience be with you!

Jedi Love
By Mi-Zhe Fu

There are those of you who are worried about becoming a Jedi, because you are in love. There are many Jedi Sites that say "A Jedi shall not know Love" or "There is no emotion." But I say "love is essential to a Jedi's Life" and "we are encouraged to love." (last two quotes are from Episode II)Love is one of the keys that makes a Jedi successful actually. If you do not care about others, you have more of a tendency to turn to the Dark Side to find emotion in some way or another.A Jedi who loves his fellow people is a Jedi you can turn to and know that he has you in his best interest. If it was not for Master Jesse Bendyn the Order would not have become what it is today. She has helped out a lot, and got people interested. She has helped out many, and has been a good guide to others. I love Jesse and if it was not for that love she would never have even known about the Order. We work well together because we care about each other and others.Attachment on the other hand that stops you from being a Jedi is not good. If you feel like your passion for someone means you would save their life over the life of many others then you are letting your personal feelings get in the way of your duty. There is more then just you who loves, and a Jedi is selfless in his actions. But it is important to understand that a good Jedi knows love, and knows that it is something worth fighting for.Jedi Master,Mi-Zhe Fu

The Force and "Jediism"
By Elgion

I have spoken with a few people and read numerous posts from people who believe that to become a Jedi they must follow a new religion that they have deemed "Jediism." However, these are not true Jedi.
----------
Now Keep in mind that this is NOT a discussion of religion, of where the force originates. That is a different discussion all together. Differant people have differant views, and we should learn to respect them.
----------
Those who use the term "Jediism" believe that it is a religion of its own. They affirm that it does not support nor fall under any present day religion. Thus, entering it to the same category as real religions.

A religion, however, is A personal or institutionalized system grounded in the belief and worship of higher sentient beings. The members of a religion follow this higher power and worship it. Doing as they believe it's desires dictate.

The force does not fit to these curriculum in the least bit. The Force doesnt know everything, because to say somthing knows everything, is to imply that there is a limit, an end of knowledge. It also implies that the force is aware of this knowledge. The force does not think. It merely is, it exists without boundry. It flows into and out of everything, thusly is everything, and everywhere. That is how it posses everything, because it contains nothing. (those familiar with the Tao will be able to realte to this more easily) The force is a form of energy that comes from life. Life creates it. Therefore the force only desires for life to exist as it is it's origin.

The Jedi do not worship the force, we only acknowledge its prescence just as we acknowledge the ocean. It exists and we are the ones who are aware of it. Also, the force is not some untouchable unnaturally occuring phenomenon. It is an abundant and powerful energy. It isnt hidden either, we can see actual occurances caused by it on a regular basis. We can reach out and feel it with training.
The force is not above us, but nor are we above it. This is one of the first things that must be learnt by anyone wishing to become a Jedi. That the force is real and consistant. Trust in it just as you trust in the existence of gravity. For it too is a force that governs our world. Only, gravity varies from planet to planet whereas the force never changes.

Perhaps the best way to think of the force, is to compare it to the wind. This is my personal favorite.
We can't see it, but we see it's effects.
We cant hold on to it, but we can feel it.
We cant control it, but we can guide it.
It doesn't control us, but can help and guide us too.

In fact, the only differances that I can think of between the wind and the force is; the origins of the two, the consistancy that they occur, and to what levels we can manipulate them.

Yes, Learn that, and you will have taken your first step to becoming a great Jedi.

May the wind always fill your sails
